- the East London venue for performing arts which opened just two years ago has gone into voluntary liquidation.
The London Borough of Newham is now operating the theatre and a statement on their website reads: "The council will be working with the Arts Council to review the long term future of the facility, once we have had an opportunity to consider the conclusions of the creditors meeting.
In the meantime, we are keeping the Circus open to ensure that all activities planned by the existing users in the immediate future are honoured as far as possible, and to keep disruption at the venue to a minimum."
East London Dance, who are based in the building, continue to run all activities as normal.
